Adjustable Stands

Our adjustable hammered dulcimer stands are superior in looks, function and price to any on the market today! Made exclusively for us by a very persnickety furniture maker with high standards, you'll find features that are on none other. Note the lack of plastic-covered dowel rods to hold the dulcimer in place. Instead, the top rail continues up and in front of the dulcimer, beautifully performing its function without compromising the form. The bottom braces are scalloped, adding yet another aspect that makes this dulcimer stand double as a lovely piece of furniture.

Small strips of felt keep the wood from marring the bottom of your instrument, and a dot of felt on the inside screw heads prevent the stand from rattling nosily in transport.

This stand is available in poplar for $149.00, and cherry or walnut for $159.00.

ADJUSTABLE STANDS FOR TALL PLAYERS extend 6” higher than the regular dulcimer stands. Makes it much more comfortable for you taller-than-average types. These stands are available in limited quantities at only $15.00 more than our regular stands.

Scissors Stands

Dave makes our scissor stands out of light weight bass wood. He sands them smooth and finishes them with a clear acrylic coating. Only $50. If you’d like one made from walnut, let us know. $75

Table Top Stands

If you have limited space or don’t want to invest in a more expensive stand yet, our table-top stand is just the ticket. Made with the same fine detail as our adjustable stand, such as felt pads to protect from scratching the instrument and a turned-up end instead of a dowel rod. $24

Music Stands

Look around at any workshop and you'll see more and more of these music stands in use. Why? Because they are simply the best! They are fully adjustable, can be used with virtually any hammered dulcimer stand and are quick and easy to place. The clamps work perfectly if your dulcimer has tristander legs, or if you have a large dulcimer that extends several inches beyond your stand. The paddle is your best choice for most other dulcimer stands. The Plexiglass is available in clear, smoky, or playful neon colors! For those of you who play in ensembles or with an orchestra and work from a piece of music several pages long, our "super-sized" Classic 24" or Classic 30" plex will help you avoid frequent page turning.

17" standard - $45.00, Classic 24" - $50.00.

SUPER-SIZED MUSIC HOLDERS now allow you to spread 4 or more pages of music on the stand. Great when playing for weddings or in ensembles. While our standard width is 17”, you can now order the Classic 24”. 17" Standard - $45.00, Classic 24" - $50.00.

MIGHTY BRIGHT LIGHTS - For those times when you need to see your music in a low-light environment, these Mighty Bright lights are ideal! The flexible arms allow you to point the beams where you want them, then coil them up for storage. The bright LED light source means no bulbs to replace -ever! "These little lights are perfect with the String Fever music stand, but will work with any music stand. The Triple LED light has the added flexibility of a telescoping arm and swiveling light head for ideal coverage. It can also be used freestanding if preferred. Each light takes 3 AAA alkeline batteries, which are included. We offer the single head for $15.00 and the dual head or telescoping light for $20.00."

CORKY BANJO MUTE - Nope, doesn’t have anything to do with a dulcimer, but if you know a banjo player, he or she may be interested in this little item. We manufacture these for performance, practice or studio work. It cuts out the overtones and quiets the banjo down. Made from rosewood and cork to produce a warmer tone, it is designed to remain on the instrument and adjusts easily for use or non-use. Works for open back and resonator banjos. $24.00

HAMMER TIME WATCHES – Not for your wrist, but for your dulcimer. Keep your program within its time limit without having to look at your wrist every few minutes. This fun little timepiece fits right over a tuning pin. Each one is different. $20.00

Other Accessories

In addition to the accessories listed above, we also carry a variety of other supplies, such as banjo and guitar capos. But we don't stop there - we have rubber endpin stops for upright basses, guitar polish, guitar and bass stands, and bass bags. Ask about the instructional materials we have in stock for acoustic bass, guitar and hammered dulcimer. And of course we carry tuning wrenches for dulcimers, autoharps and bowed psalteries, and strings for most instruments. Be sure to take a look at our What's New page for items that aren't listed here.

Hammers

I h
ad to woodburn my initials into my Ed Hale hammers because so many other dulcimer players also use his hammers that I was concerned at some point I would pick up the wrong pair and we would come to blows about whose were whose! They are light, well balanced, and easy to flip over when you want to use the other side. $27.00.

Bob Bedard makes the most beautiful hammers out of all kinds of woods, in light to heavier weights. The Harlequin model is not only a work of art, but one half can be made of ebony, making them the perfect hammer for playing outdoors on a breezy day. Our supply of Bedard hammers is constantly changing, so please call or email for availability.
$18.00 - $45.00.

If you want an attractive, beautifully balanced hammer, Jill Weimer's hammers are ones you'll want to consider. The heads are cut out to either a celtic design or a St. Bridget's Cross. Or just for fun, play with her "hammer-shaped" hammers. They certainly help people remember the difference between a mountain dulcimer and a hammered dulcimer!
$20.00 - $30.00.

The String Fever flexible-shaft hammers are ideal for those of you who play lightening fast! The springy-action allows them to bounce back the way you need for your playing style. We will make them to the length you request. $10.00.
